Popcorn with a kick!

I used to eat popcorn a lot, sadly it was the high calorie microwave version of butter and salt from Mr. Rendenbacher. Is that guy still around? Anyway, it was an easy way to satisfy my afternoon hunger fast. Very recently I picked up a jar of popcorn kernels and decided to make some NEW versions of popcorn treats made with fresh ingredients. I just picked out a few ingredients from my kitchen and voila a new recipe was born :). If you like spicy then you will LOVE this version of popcorn! I think it tastes best when the corn is still warm and sizzling.

SPICY POPCORN WITH A HINT OF ROSEMARY
Serves 2 - 3 people

INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup of popcorn kernels
1 Tablespoon of butter
1/2 teaspoon of chipotle chili powder
1/2 Tablespoon of chopped fresh rosemary

DIRECTIONS
1. Do a 2 second pour of canola oil into a large pot and put over medium heat.
2. When the pan is hot, pour kernels in and place a lid on top to cover.
3. When the kernels start to pop, shake the pan every now and then so the popcorn on the bottom does not burn.
4. As the popcorn is popping. Melt butter in a small saucepan, turn off the heat and add rosemary and chili powder. Stir everything together.
5. Turn off the heat on the popcorn when the popping slows down. Take the pot off the heat so it doesn't burn.
6. Pour the popped corn into a bowl and add the butter mixture. Stir the popcorn so it is coated nicely.

Pop in a movie to go along with your popcorn and DIG IN!
WARNING: This snack will disappear very quickly ;-)
